1. Prep Your Hair: Ensure your hair is completely dry and detangled. Before styling, mist your hair with a heat protect spray, like the ghd Bodyguard heat protect spray.
2. Section Your Hair: For best results, divide your hair into medium-sized, manageable sections and pin the rest out of the way.
3. Turn On the Styler: Plug in the device and press and hold the power button for a second or two until the lights illuminate and you hear a short sound. The styler heats up to its optimal styling temperature of 185°C (365°F) in around 45 seconds and will indicate when it is ready. The temperature is not adjustable, as 185°C is the temperature researched to provide effective styling with no extreme heat damage.
4. Style Your Hair:
   • For Straight Hair: Place the styler at the root of a hair section and gently glide it down to the ends in a smooth, single pass. Use the included All-Rounder Paddle Brush to detangle and smooth large sections before styling.
   • For Curls or Waves: The rounded barrel design is ideal for creating curls and waves. Place the styler horizontally at the root, then rotate it a full turn (180°) and glide it down the length of your hair. Alternate the direction of the rotation on different sections for a more natural look.
5. Finish Your Style: After styling, allow the hair to cool. You can mist a little hairspray onto the paddle brush and brush through your hair to soften curls and add shine.
6. Storage and Safety: The styler features an automatic sleep mode and will switch off after 10 minutes of inactivity for peace of mind. Once the tool is unplugged and fully cooled, store it in the provided heat-resistant bag.
